Engaged as an IT Consultant and Solutions provider. SJLC is an elementary institution located in Claver, Surigao del Note.
At the hype of the pandemic, every academic institutions prepared for online distance learning. As the situation was unprecedented, majority of academic community was not prepared for the shift.Â
As an IT Consultant tasked with supporting SJLC (St. Josephs Learning Center) in enhancing their digital infrastructure and online learning capabilities, my role involved a diverse range of responsibilities aimed at driving innovation, efficiency, and effectiveness in their educational initiatives. Here’s a detailed breakdown of each task:
Enable Learning Management System (LMS) for SJLC:
- Collaborated with stakeholders to assess the organization’s learning and training needs and identify suitable Learning Management System (LMS) solutions.
- Conducted research, evaluated LMS platforms, and recommended the most suitable solution based on SJLC’s requirements, budget, and scalability.
- Implemented and configured the chosen LMS platform, ensuring seamless integration with existing systems and compatibility with SJLC’s educational programs.
- Customized the LMS interface, user roles, and permissions to align with SJLC’s branding and specific user requirements.
- Provided training and support to administrators, teachers, and students on how to use the LMS effectively for course delivery, content management, assessments, and collaboration.
Capacitate Teachers and Prepare them for Online Teaching Skills:
- Designed and conducted comprehensive training programs and workshops to equip SJLC teachers with the necessary skills and knowledge for effective online teaching.
- Covered topics such as online pedagogy, instructional design, digital content creation, virtual classroom management, and assessment strategies.
- Facilitated hands-on training sessions and simulations to familiarize teachers with the use of digital tools, interactive media, and educational technologies in online teaching.
- Provided ongoing support and mentorship to teachers, offering guidance, troubleshooting assistance, and best practices for optimizing their online teaching experience.
Provide Support:
- Established a dedicated support system and helpdesk to address technical issues, questions, and concerns related to the LMS, online teaching tools, and digital resources.
- Offered timely assistance and troubleshooting to resolve technical glitches, user errors, and other challenges encountered by teachers, students, and administrators.
- Monitored system performance, user feedback, and support ticket trends to identify recurring issues and implement proactive solutions or improvements.
Create, Design & Develop SJLC Website:
- Collaborated with SJLC stakeholders to define the requirements, objectives, and design preferences for the organization’s website.
- Developed a strategic plan and timeline for website creation, outlining key milestones, deliverables, and responsibilities.
- Designed and implemented an engaging, user-friendly website interface that showcases SJLC’s programs, services, achievements, and resources.
- Integrated features such as online enrollment forms, course catalogs, event calendars, and multimedia content to enhance user experience and functionality.
- Ensured the website complied with accessibility standards, search engine optimization (SEO) best practices, and data privacy regulations.
By fulfilling these tasks as an IT Consultant, I played a pivotal role in modernizing SJLC’s educational infrastructure, empowering teachers with online teaching skills, and creating a robust digital ecosystem to support their educational objectives and initiatives.
